In September 1975 I traveled to New Orleans, LA to show my first Porter Music Box at the annual Music Box Society Convention being held there. That was the beginning over 30 years ago.

Today after reviving the disc music box industry, we are the only major manufacture of large multiple disc playing music boxes in the world. Many improvements in sound and mechanical technology have been incorporated over the past 30 years.

Collectors have found our music boxes to be great investments. Currently selling for more than twice their original price. Porter Music Boxes have proven to be the finest manufactured any where in the world today.

I started this company striving for perfection and I have not altered my course since.

What Differentiates Us

Porters are the largest disc style music boxes in manufacture today, each component handcrafted and assembled in Randolph, Vermont. To control precision and quality, Porter craftsmen finely machine the musical combs and other works in Porter's own shop, using advanced CNC lathes and premium quality tools.

This attention to detail is the secret to Porter's trademark sound of multiple octaves and rich harmonic resonance. Encased in beauty, Porter Music Boxes are cradled in cabinets imported exclusively from Italy.
